About Us

Igbomina Descendants Association (UK) was formed by indigene of Igbominaland in United Kingdom who had a vision of a social, political and economic association of Igbomina indigene in UK. The first ever meeting of the association was held with 8 members on 28 October 1990.

IDA is established to:

  • To provide a forum for the deliberation and discussion of issues that affects the welfare and wellbeing of all members and indeed of our motherland
  • To provide an avenue for the execution of our charitable objectives
  • To promote opportunities to facilitate economic, political, cultural and social interaction among all Igbomina descendants living in the UK, in Nigeria and indeed world-wide
  • To enable the social integration and education of our children in accordance with our traditional ethics and customs
  • To show interest and participate in any activity that will enhance the reputation of the Igbomina people
  • To protect and promote the interest of members, where such interest is in consonance with the aims of the association.
  • To commission projects for the benefits of our indigenous motherland.
